LUCINDA WILLIAMS October 2015

I bought a 12” Vinyl Lp “Ramblin’ On My Mind” by an obscure female blues singer, based solely upon the vibe of the packaging.
I was raving about this album to everyone I knew.
A few years later, after midnight on January 29th 1983, a friend brought Lucinda and her then bass player boyfriend over to my warehouse home/studio on Broadway.
We became instant friends, a friendship that has matured and endured several relationships.
Lucinda is notably a great artist. A gifted writer who never fails to impress me with her vocal abilities.

This picture was used for Lucinda's 1998 “Car Wheels On a Gravel Road” promotion.

Lucinda Williams gained respect, worldwide recognition and a several Grammys, for her forthright determination not to be sucked into the demands
of music business cliches by sticking to her guns, truthfully defending and honouring her artistic and female rights which resulted in a cult following.
Her songs are poetic essays evoking social commentary, sensuality and the politics of religion and relationships.
