Mel Tillis was a prolific songwriter, entertainer, keen businessman, a man’s man, a ladies man, a family man and a great singer with a kickass band, The Statesiders, who played real Country Music. I was Mel’s photographer and art director in the mid ’80s. We took this picture on his farm near Nashville where he was Keeping It Country.
