Roy Acuff dubbed, the "King of Country Music", hosted the Grand Ole Opry and collected musical instruments. He is credited with moving the genre from its early string band and hoedown format to the singer based format that made Country Music internationally successful. Taken during my first time at the Opry shooting a feature for England’s, Country Music People. I moved from London to Nashville in May 1978.
